Mac is a character at np_hogwarts who is played by lenabee. Nothing you read in this journal is real and only members of NP should friend it.

History: Born Arthur Kincaid MacAlaister on November 1, 1941 to Muggle parents in Scotland, Mac had a fairly normal childhood. His family had no idea of the magical world prior to him receiving his latter, though Mac had always had a strange affinity for wolves that no one could explain.

He was sorted to Gryffindor as a first year and spend his time at Hogwarts focusing mostly on Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts - his two best and favourite subjects. When not focusing on his studies, Mac could often be found flying about on his broom or out on the grounds playing rugby or some other Muggle sport. In his fifth year he made the Gryffindor quidditch team as a beater, which he enjoyed, though he never had a desire to play beyond school.

Upon leaving Hogwarts, Mac enrolled in Auror training, wanting to devote his life to catching the bad guys and doing what he could to see justice served. He was one of the first members of The Order of the Phoenix when it was founded in the 1970's, further serving his aim to rid the world of the bad guys and make it safe for Muggleborn and Halfblood wizards again.

So devoted to his work that he never married, Mac nevetheless had a son who came out one of a few flings he had in his younger days. The woman did not tell him about Cal until 13 years later when she was dying of cancer and needed Mac to take care of the boy. Mac and Cal clashed constantly at first, but since Cal has grown up and become and Auror and Order Member, the two have grown closer, especially after Cal's wife was injured in the line of duty, becoming a permanent resident of St Mungos.

These days, Mac is the Head Auror at the Department of Magical Law Enforcement in the Ministry of Magic and his life's ambition is still to stop the Death Eaters and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

Academics: Mac was a good student, intelligent and hard-working. He had his share of fun and pulled his share of pranks with his childhood best friend, but he was serious when he needed to be, acheiving 7 NEWTs and going on to enter Auror training.

Social Life: During his school years, Mac was friends and well-liked. He had many girlfriends, though none were very serious and a large group of friends. His social life after leaving school was much different as he focused on his career, though he still had his share of casual flings. Currently, he has no real frieds, though he serves as a father figure to many of the younger aurors who he had a hand in training and in particular to his own son Cal. He also seems to have a weird sort of friendship with lenore_grey, though the precise nature of that is anyone's guess.

Strengths/Skills: He is very gifted at Transfiguration. He studied and became a registered animagus some years after leaving school. He transforms into a white wolf, which has come in handy in his career as an Auror. He was adequately skilled in Potions and Charms to pass his NEWTs in those areas and go on to become an Auror after school. He is also skilled in DADA, having had lots of field experience with it as an Auror and member of the Order. Mac is very intelligent, although he doesn't have the patience to study things that aren't of use or interest to him. He also has fairly quick reflexes, born of a lifetime playing Muggle sports and playing quidditch during his time at Hogwarts.

Weaknesses: Mac doesn't have a lot of patience and he has a bit of a short attention span for things he doesn't care about. He didn't do very well in Care of Magical Creatures, Astronomy, or History of Magic. Magically, his weakest areas are Charms and Potions. He does well enough with more basic Charms and Potions, just managing to scrape by with an E to get to the NEWT level, but he didn't do so well on the NEWTs, just barely earning himself a passing mark on those. He is impatient and intolerant of those he doesn't deem worth his time. Tact is not something he is well acquainted with, preferring to more bluntly get his point across.

Personality: Mac was born under the sign of Scorpio.Positive traits include magnetic charisma, ambition, drive, a penetrating mind, curiosity, intensity of focus, emotional depth, consistency, persistence, willpower, and the potential for inner transformation and regeneration; negative traits include selfishness, obsessiveness, vindictiveness, hypersensitivity, ruthlessness, cynicism, an inability to understand the word "moderation," and jealousy. It is said that Scorpios embody both the best and the worst of all that are born under the stars, and that there are three kinds of Scorpios: wicked scorpions, cunning serpents, and saintly eagles. What each Scorpio becomes is entirely up to that Scorpio.

Expect stamina, incredible courage, intense and stormy emotions, burning idealism, and indomitable will. Gryffindor Scorpios are never drawn in shades of pastel; they are always blood red and mesmerizing gold. There are few followers born under these aspects; Scorpios born into this house tend to be either leaders or loners. They are well placed on the Quidditch field, where their natural competitive streak and their great store of personal energy make them natural Beaters (or, really, naturals at any position on the field). Expect them to get into frequent duels, and expect them to gravitate naturally to DADA, for all Scorpios are fascinated by anything dark and forbidden, and Gryffindor Scorpios will want to take their place as defenders as early in their careers as possible. Expect passion. Expect wisdom. But don't expect a lot of time to take a breather. Many people born under this aspect also end up as Aurors; they're the perfect "bad cops" to the "good cop" Libra wizards.
